In a globalized value chain, competition for specialized talent and world-class engineering services is intensifying. In response to that trend, ABB Argentina is strengthening its position as a strategic technical knowledge hub, exporting capabilities developed locally to critical projects across multiple continents.

The keys to that performance include highly skilled human capital, innovative and sustainable technologies, proven technical quality, operational resilience and continuous availability. Together, these factors position the Argentine operation as a trusted partner for clients who select ABB from remote locations around the world for diverse and demanding projects.

Record milestone: 28,000 engineering hours exported

Results from the 2025 OPC (Operation Center) Engagement survey mark a significant milestone. Over the past year, more than 28,000 hours of engineering services were delivered from AROPC, ABB’s Argentina-based Operation Center, to various global markets and projects, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, France, the United Kingdom and the Czech Republic.

The 27% increase from 2024 reflects not only ABB Argentina’s expansion, but also the confidence international clients place in the locally developed know-how, technical quality and responsiveness.

“This achievement is a clear demonstration of our people, their dedication and technical capabilities. Surpassing 28,000 hours of exported engineering services speaks not only to the growth of ABB Argentina, but also to the trust the world places in knowledge developed locally. In a globalized market, we compete and grow thanks to our quality, resilience and reliability,” said Giselle Somale, country holding officer of ABB Argentina.

Global competitiveness: Five differentiating factors

What leads clients across continents to choose ABB Argentina for critical projects?

  1. World-class talent: Specialized teams with strong technical training, the ability to adapt to diverse environments and expertise in cutting-edge technologies.
  2. Proven technical quality: Rigorous application of ABB global standards, ensuring reliable solutions for highly complex projects.
  3. Operational resilience: Demonstrated capacity to deliver in challenging contexts, meeting deadlines and specifications without compromising quality.
  4. Availability and rapid response: Continuous support and agile responsiveness that build trust with clients across multiple time zones.

These factors position AROPC as one of ABB’s leading Operation Centers worldwide, operating within a global value chain alongside other highly competitive ABB hubs such as those in India and the Czech Republic.

“We are executing an engineering services export strategy that positions ABB Argentina as a key player in the company’s global operations. We compete with the world and succeed thanks to the quality of our talent, our capacity for innovation and our operational resilience,” said Guillermo Lamana, engineering manager for ABB Argentina’s Americas Hub.

Global value chain: Argentina as a key player

In the current global economic environment, the export of engineering services from Argentina makes a significant contribution to the local operation’s trade balance and positions the country as a relevant player in the global knowledge-based services market.

In 2025, service exports were concentrated primarily in the Automation business area, through its OPC engineering and services operation. From there, specialized teams provide remote support and develop solutions for industrial projects in different regions worldwide.

From Argentina, ABB professionals are involved in initiatives related to automation, digitalization and process optimization, delivering high-value technical expertise to global operations with a focus on sustainability, energy efficiency and operational safety.

This business model allows ABB to integrate Argentine talent into global technology transformation projects, supporting the digitalization and innovation processes reshaping industries worldwide.

Looking ahead: Argentina in the next industrial wave

“Our operation in Argentina has all the conditions to continue playing a leading role in the ongoing industrial revolution shaped by artificial intelligence and sustainability in production processes for the efficient use of natural resources. Talent, education, adaptability and resilience are differentiators that allow us to integrate into global value chains and generate solutions with international impact. In a world where competition is fierce, Argentina shows it can compete for and win high-technology projects,” Somale added.

Looking toward 2026, ABB Argentina aims to double down on this strategy, with more ambitious goals in global collaboration, capability development and expanded participation in international projects, reaffirming its commitment to technical excellence and innovation.

“Our commitment is clear: to continue demonstrating that from Argentina it is possible to compete globally in highly complex engineering services, with local talent, constant innovation and a culture of excellence that sets us apart,” Lamana concluded.
